Our bi-monthly visit to Kentucky!

We are currently in Kentucky, again! We arrived last Saturday and leave tomorrow. We miss Joe something awful, but it is so nice to be with my family! I realized that we have been to Kentucky pretty much every two months of Sophie's life...give or take some months here and there. What can I say we LOVE Kentucky!! We've had a wonderful trip so far!!...Sorry for the out of sequence pictures...not sure what happened!

Sophie being the little diva that she is! This child LOVES all things girly!
When did she get so big?!?!
She is so playful!
This picture sums up why I love KY so much...perfect and peaceful!!
Soph and her Nan! She ADORES her Nan!!
Making sure her glove is on
Nan picked up a glove to get a Caterpillar off the porch so Soph had to put the other one on! This child is such a mimic!
The cat went under the couch to hide from Sophie, but don't worry, she went in after her. That cat curses the day that Sophie began to walk!
Sophie discovered cheese dip
And LOVES it!!
Mommy and Sophie on the plane
Baby girl playing with her bunny! Right after this shot she ripped his ears off. Not gonna lie, I was a little traumatized!

Oh, Spring How I Love Thee!

Spring in Florida is perfect! It's pretty warm, but not unbearably hot! However, it is quickly getting there! Since Sophie has been walking I take her outside for a "walk" around the neighborhood a couple times a day! She LOVES being outside and I think it's cruel not to get her out. Today I thought I would switch it up and go to the pool. Which I'll try to do more often now that it's so nice!
Here is Miss Priss in all her glory just lounging

This child always has her foot propped up on whatever she can. Not very lady like, but we'll work on it when she's older. Or if she's showing her panties. I'm not sure where she got this trait from. Ahem :). She looks a pretty pink in this picture, but I promise she did not burn and I had 60spf on her!

The sweetest little behind :)! Ah, I love this bathing suit! It's Lilly Pulitzer and has the most darling little hippos peeking out behind the flowers.

Beth Moore - Loving Well

Joe and I started attending Bellshoals Baptist back in November of last year. Since this was a big step for us I wanted to take some time to get to know the church before getting too involved. Last month I felt like it was time so I started checking the website and bulletin to see what was available. I saw that they offer a women's Bible study on Tuesday mornings which I definitely needed in my life! They were starting a new series that following Tuesday and to make it even more perfect the new series was "Loving Well" by Beth Moore - whom I ADORE!! I have done a couple of her studies and they all have been incredibly powerful!! If you haven't ever heard her PLEASE check her out!! She is so geniune and transparent! I can't even begin to tell you how needed this series was in my life!

I posted a clip of one of the more humorous parts of her message! This lady is a hoot!

On a more serious note...Beth Moore has so much material out there that covers many areas! If you are dealing with something in your life check her out! I'm sure she has something that will help! I'm pretty cautious who I let speak into my life and I trust Beth Moore whole-heartedly!

Better Video

OK, this is a better video...hopefully :)! I was able to take a clip from the video that was too long.

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend we drove over to my Aunt and Uncle's in Homosassa Springs to surprise my grandparents, Pappy and Gigi, who were in town. My family is really bad at surprises so they ended up finding out that we were coming before we got there :). It was such a perfect weekend. Here is how our trip went...
Gigi and Sophie having a good time!
This is my Aunt Renee - she's actually my mother's first cousin, but I call her Aunt. I was named after her...Sara Renea! To say that we both like to talk a little would be an understatement, ha!

Pappy was my hot date for Friday night since Joe wasn't able to come until Saturday morning. There will never be another man to hold my heart like Pappy :)!
Sophie LOVED being out on the dock! She would've jumped right in if I would have let her!!

Gigi and Aunt Pat! They are HILARIOUS together!!
Aunt Renee and her big catch. Joe had just caught a tiny, tiny fish and Aunt Renee was having a good time making fun of it until she pulled this big boy up! That thing was smaller than the bait, ha!
Daddy and Sophie!

She did NOT like having that life jacket on! And she let us know!
Sweet girl!

Helping Uncle Scott - whom she adored! - drive the boat. She thought she was big stuff! Anytime he would try to take back over she would push his hands away!

My world!
Here is a video of Sophie playing in a "pool" that we made for her! I'm not sure why the video is sideways...sorry. There was a better video that I took, but it was too long to put on her.

Fun on the Farm

Today I let Sophie loose on the family property/farm. I really didn't think that she would take off like she did because she HATES grass/dirt. She has always refused to even put her feet in it! The little Miss Priss that she is will hold her legs up even when I try it, ha! She apparently has gotten over it because she had the time of her life playing today!! It was such a special time for me as well because I have so many fond memories of playing on the farm!! My cousin and I would play for HOURS and HOURS in the fields! We would come home blacker than the dirt we were playing in! My grandfather was always taking me out on the tractor and letting us help him plant his crops. It did make me a bit sad that my grandparents weren't here to see Sophie playing! I know it would've made them proud to see her!
This is my Aunt behind Sophie...

Easter 2010

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter!! We had my family over on Saturday and it was so nice to be with them! Sunday morning we went to the early morning service so that I would have time to get back to cook the dishes that I was bringing to my in laws. Our early service typically starts at 9:30, but they started at 8:30 for Easter. I woke up at 6:30 and was still late. Go figure! I don't have any pictures of us at my in laws because all our cameras were dead and I forget my phone which is always my back up plan.

This was my first time using my china. Sad I know since we've been married for over 2 years now!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE tulips! I would have fresh tulips in every room of my house if I could!
I made Joe his FAVORITE cake - red velvet - from SCRATCH! No boxes were used here. I was so proud that I felt the need to document :)!
My handsome husband and baby girl!
Isn't she just the most darlin' thing you've ever seen?! I know that I might be a bit prejudice :)
And she's off...this child is on the run now a days!

So happy!

She loves for people to chase her! This is what she was wanting me to do here :)

Easter "Doings"

This blog isn't about much. It's basically about Easter stuff. Call me a dork, but we are matching this year! I usually don't care for the idea of matching family outfits for church with the exception of Easter. Isn't that strange?! No other holiday do I feel the need to coordinate with the other members of our family. So why Easter? Who knows how this crazy mind works ;). Anywho...this year our color is golden yellow! Yay! I have a fabulous dress from Liberty of London that is golden yellow with white flowers. I LOVE it! I went to the local boutique to get Sophie's dress. I found a BEAUTIFUL white dress for her. It's not the typical smocked bishop I put her in, but it's still BEAUTIFUL!! And sooo sweet...with just enough sass! I got a golden yellow bow to coordinate with my outfit. Not that you guys really care, but Joe is going to be wearing black pants, white shirt, and you guessed it...a golden yellow tie :).

Tomorrow night I'm hosting my first ever family holiday dinner! YAY! I'm very excited about it. I LOVE having parties!!! So it's only going to be my aunt and uncle, but I'm still super happy to be having it! I'm sure I'll have pictures on Monday! I plan on making roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, biscuits, and coconut cake! All homemade...so basically I'll be in the kitchen most of the day tomorrow :)! I thought about making stuffing, but figured that may be a bit much for only 4 people and a baby, ha! Sunday we're heading to the in-laws!

Lastly, I have decided to give up my beloved tanning this year :(. Oh how I will miss it! Now, I'm not giving up going to the beach, pool, etc, because, hello, I LIVE in Florida, but I'm just going to be extra careful not to get too much sun. I LOVE to just lay in the sun for hours. I know how HORRIBLE it is for you and that it's got to stop...boo!! I am, however, going to sunless tan :). I tried it myself for the first time yesterday and it didn't turn out too bad. I had a REALLY embarrassing episode in college that involved being spray tanned...right before my first formal for my sorority. I was as orange as an oompa loompa!! And had as many spots as a cheetah! It was BAD!!! Wish I could dig up some pictures of that night, but I have no clue where to even start looking for them! Needless to say after that experience I wasn't exactly thrilled at the idea of using sunless tanning, but my heart went out to those who were being blinded by MY whiteness!! So with a quick tutorial from Erica I gave it a try! This morning I was a bit splotchy, but I was able to go back and fix some spots.

I will leave you with a picture of Sophie looking oh-so-Joe-like!
